On the 19 March, local developer Mark Mezrani will release stage two in Urban Camperdown, which is a master planned community located on the edge of the Sydney CBD in the heart of Camperdown. The $250 million project is located on the old Ryvita Biscuit Factory site along Barr St.
Forty-two one and two bed apartments will be released in stage two and start from $665,000 in Aron which is the tallest building in the development. The apartments are spread across eight levels and many boast views across Anzac Bridge and Sydney’s CBD.
Ben Hamblett, NSW & QLD Associate Director for Ausin Group’s project marketing division said, “Urban Camperdown is a rare find that has been embraced by purchasers across Sydney. Sale drivers have included a lack of new apartments at an affordable price point within three kilometres from the CBD; the project is located directly beside Sydney University and it is in a tightly held area that is benefiting from multi-billion dollar infrastructure plans.”
Urban Camperdown is located in the heart of the State government’s Western corridor activation plans. Camperdown and Glebe have been earmarked as activation areas that will be made more liveable and walkable suburbs. Major infrastructure projects about to start or are currently underway in the area include the gentrification and activation of the foreshore encompassing Pyrmont, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo and Black Wattle Bay.
Joseph Zaja, Managing Director of Ausin Group added, “A wide variety of purchasers have bought in the project. University students who studied at Sydney University and work in the area or city are purchasing because they are familiar with the suburb and like its eclectic surrounds. Professional couples who reside in Glebe, Ultimo, Camperdown and Haymarket are buying as well as investors. Investors from the Hills area and North Shore who have built up substantial equity over the past five years have identified Camperdown as a place that has long term growth potential.”
Over eighty apartments and terraces valued at over $85 million comprising one, two and three beds have already been sold in stage one.
When completed Urban Camperdown will comprise 199 designer apartments and 15 three storey terrace homes across a family of five buildings with several offering city views. These range from five to seven levels and are intertwined with lush landscaped gardens and terrace homes.
“Camperdown’s industrial heritage, coupled with this wonderful site gave us an opportunity to make a unique contribution to the built landscape of the area with this project,” said Michael Heenan, CEO, Principal, Design for Allen Jack + Cottier.
“The apartments have generous balconies with timber decking accessed seamlessly through large stacking sliding doors, blurring the distinction between inside and out. It is envisioned as both a place for passive recreation as well as providing a tranquil outlook. The landscaped courtyards are a combination of trees and smaller scale plants.”
Prices for apartments in stage two start at $665,000 for a one bed and two beds are priced from $1.188 million.
Ceerose is currently constructing Urban with completion expected in the first quarter of 2017. Thirty-five one beds and 7 two beds are available for purchase in stage two.
Urban’s luxurious apartments will enjoy 2.7 metre high ceilings, vitrified floor tiling in living areas, reconstituted kitchen stone benchtops, Brodware tapware in the kitchen and bathrooms and generous balcony areas.
The project comprises 47 one beds, 75 one bed plus studies, 27 two beds, 39 two bed plus studies, 7 three beds, 4 three bed plus studies and 15 three level terrace homes.
Ausin’s sales suite will open on 9 March and will be located at 24 Lyons Road, Camperdown. It will be open on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only from 10am until 12pm. Viewing outside these times is available by appointment only. A $5,000 expression of interest deposit is also required to secure an apartment.
